I took the plunge. Started with Knoppix, and now Lindows. Love to say it, but the more I use Knoppix/Lindows, the more I like them. Matter of fact I am in the Lindows Live right now.
Have W2K Pro on all my systems, and K/L on a few that aer used by more advanced users. One of them uses knop any time she can, as we do have some programs that have to use M$.
Maybe not the end, but the start of the giant losing a little weight???

Until extensive driver support and a decent gaming API is intrioduced to Linux, then, in a word, no

At least not outside of the realms of servers/professional usage

It won't replace Windows just yet, but I'm getting it anyway. Looks nice.

I took the plunge into Gentoo and I have to say I like very much but like Bigjak said Linux has a long way until it hits the mainstream destop.
The best thing about linux though is alot of distrubtions are Free . Gentoo is bit different then knoppix is but if you want to learn more about bash and alot more of the functions then you should get a gentoo livecd.
