Win98 errors?
I have been getting the Blue Screen of Death quite often for the last three weeks. They always say error in vxd vfat and error in vxd ios. I figured it was time to reinstall win98. I did a full format of the hard drive and installed win98 but I am still getting the errors. Does anyone have any ideas what my problem may be? The only other thing I can think of is one of my devices is goin bad but they all seem to be working fine. Here are my system specs.
Abit BH6
Cel 300A (OC*450)
Acer 24x cdrom
Quantum fireball ST 4.3G
STB velocity128
Thanks in advance to all replys!

what voltage do you have your BH6 at and what are your memory sttings?
Did you flash to the HN bios yet?

Bighammer-
The voltage is set at 2.3 and for the memory settings well I am still using the FL bios and the cas is set at 3 and the only other memory setting I know of is disabled (I can't think of what it is called). I suppose I should flash my bios to the newest one.
I have a Globalwin FAB 24 heatsink with the thermal pad. I know I should use thermal paste but I don't live anywhere near a Radio Shack. It has worked with the thermal pad for 2 1/2 months without these errors though.

What it sounds like is the chip or memory is becoming unstable.
Those are the errors most common with low{so so} voltage and memory timings being incorrect.
Go to Abit and download the HN bios.
sys a disk and put on the flash and utility on the disk{unzipped}.
reboot with the disk in.
at the A: prompt type;
A:awdflash BH6_HN.bin /cc with your voltage at 2.3v.
Hit the reset{F1 I think}
your new default volts will be 2.3 and you will be able to hit the 2.4v to see if it stablizes.
