ATX auto off soft or hard activated?
I have had two systems with ATX mb/power supply, they both had win98 and they both turned themselves off after shutdown when the "it is now safe" screen came up, I just put together a new atx system with an intel se440bx mb and pii 400/win95 osr2.1 and it does not turn itself off after shutdown, is there something wrong in the configuration?
is the auto off a feature of win98?
does the se440bx not support this feature?

on the new system, go into your control panel, power, and make sure the "allow windows to manage power use on this computer" field has a check mark in it. if not, check it and try to shutdown. if that doesn't work, check the power settings in your bios. and no, its not just a win98 thing.
