Quantum HDD
I tried to install a Quantum HD-Fireball EX6.4 as a secondary master. The CMOS was set to auto and the BIOS detected the drive correctly.
However, Win98 refused to start, instead it re-booted and entered into safe mode.
Looked into Conrol panel/system/device and noticed that my two existing drives (C & D) were duplicated and added as generic 47 drives. The new drive E was not found in the device manager's list.
Noted also that the HD controllers (pri and secondary) was also duplicated in the device manager's list.
Although the new drive was not listed in the device manager, the drive E was found on "my computer" and "Explore."
I am using a FIC 503 mobo and a AMDk6-2 350.
My other drives are a Seagate and a Quantum.
Please help
Many thanks.
