Buffer under run on HP8100 CDRW

I can't seems to burn any CD properly without running into this error. I've already tried to set write speed to 2x and 1x, clock my cpu back to 300mhz but always getting this error.

    System spec:
    300a o/c 450
    128m ram
    IBM 10gb hard drive
    pioneer 40x cd rom
    HP 8100 cd writer plus

I ran into this problem. If I remember correctly, I had it burn from HP to HD and then HD to HP. So, don't read off of your 40x.

    Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with my 7200i.
Check with HP's web site to make sure you have the latest firmware version. The manual mentions that the HP drive preffers either primary or secondary drive status but I was never able to get my drive to work with a cd-rom attached to the system. good luck

This roblem is usually caused by other programs running in the background. HP CDWRs usually need 90% resuorces available. I do a Control, Alt, Delete and shut everything down that my system doesn't need to run, such as MS Office, Net Medic, etc. and I haven't had an under run yet.

    Good luck,

    Mark
