    WMP54G and WIN98

Helping a friend install a Linksys wireless network and we are having problems with the WMP54G wireless card not installing on WIN98. The other pc is hardwired to the Linksys router and works fine. The WIN98 machine never completes the install. Each time is seems to be a differant problem. Tech support can't help. There suggestion was to try the card in another computer, but couldn't help me with the current problem. (I don't have another win98 machine).

    Any ideas?
I started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

Did you try different pci slots? are there any conflicts with other pci cards? did you try the latest version of the installer software?

    ftp.linksys.com/pub/network

did you run the installation software before you installed the card?

    Yes, No and Yes.

I took it to work and tried to install it on another Win98 machine and had differant problems and still could not get it to install.

if it didn't work in two computers, then you should try a new one. sounds like the card might be messed up.
