DirectX 6.1 -> Dinput.dll
Hi!
Ever since I installed directX 6.1 I've been having some problems with my controllers. The problem makes some programs and games to crash and come back telling me that there is a problem with dinput.dll. I know that there isn't because I've installed my computer 3 times (win98) and then installing DX 6.1. It's not directX install files because I've downloaded the **** thing every time, the latest one I got from windows update page.
The size of the file differs?? If I search my harddrive for dinput.dll it finds 2 files, one in windows/system and 1 in windows/sysbackup. If I unpack the files from dx 6.1 there is a 3 d dinput.dll. If I copy the file from sysbackup to system, windows don’t recognize any of my joysticks (gravis and Microsoft), and If I copy the file from the dx 6.1 setup I get the same thing. But the 3 programs that I have problems with start working?!?! Only problem is that 2 of them are games, this means that I can't control the game, not with joysticks, nor the mouse or the keyboard. The games are Shogo and Blood2, the prog is "sandra", a benchmarking utility. Sandra always hangs when it gets to test how my directX is working. Now that I've fiddeled with this I have allso noticed that other games that gives me a hard time with this is: Nhl 98, Nhl 99, Fifa 99 & 98.
Please help me!!
