Computer won't start

I recently assembled a celeron 300a system w/ soyo sy6ba+ MB and ATX P/S. After assembling other components and turning it on, nada. No fan, no power. To troubleshoot, I've:
Changed P/S and case.
Verified connection from P/S to M/B several times.
Verified connection from M/B to case.
Verified that there are appropriate voltages coming out of P/S.
Verified that the P/S is the new type (20-pin).
Verified CPU & Ram is connected properly.
Verified that M/B is compatible w/ Celeron 300a.
Set it up w/ nothing but M/B & CPU.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a DEAD MB. After all those test

I did not see a Video Card installed. Probably an error in the message. You may have Soft On try and hold in the power button for 5 or 10 seconds.

Could be the motherboard. I just had this problem today. When a different mobo is installed, the power supply powers up and the fan goes on.

Apparently, it's a dead MB. Everything runs so far. However, my monitor now has low resolution (even at max setting) and is blueish. Any help appreciated.

Don't give up man. I just built myself a new system (PII 400 w/ Abit BH6) as well and I had the exact same problem. I had just finished putting everything together, plugged in, hit power. . .nada. The rear cooling fan twitched a little and that was it. Here's what I did to fix it:
Take out all PCI and/or ISA cards except for the video card. If you have a PCI video card but you have an AGP slot, put the video card in the first pci slot next to the AGP slot. Try turning it on again. If it starts, turn it off and put the cards back in one at a time then turning the machine on until you figure out what is causing the problem. Seems crazy I know but it actually seemed to matter which card I put in which slot. Could be a bus mastering issue.
Also, make sure your motherboard is not grounded to the case tray in more than one place. If you have plastic mounting studs, this should be no problem. If you have metal mounting studs, try rubber washers. Hope it helps. I went through all this and now my system is up and running. But it sure was a sinking feeling in my gut the first time I hit that power switch and nothing happened. Let me know if you have any luck.
