CD-R...Disk reads .but no play?

This is quite strange as both my disk drives are reading my BF 1942 Play disk ,but when I select play it opens into the first ad screen ,goes off and nothing after that...
does this with both drives ( CD-RW-DVD also )

never had this happen....the game and both patches and mods are loaded correctly....
This is the first time since I re-installed Windows that i've tried to play it.... whats uP??

Maybe there a link for read and play somewhere that is not set right?? or what??

This happened to me too, I think the problem is with refresh force. If you are using refresh force(or another monitor refresh rate program), try going into refresh force and "restore original settings." This should make bf1942 work and still keep your refresh rates at 85/100mhz or whatever rate you use.

Where do i get this? ( refreah force ) or how do I change the refresh rate??

Also, I changed the Video drivers ( they worked fine before ) and if all else fails,,,would you recommend re-installing it?? This would be a pain as I loaded the latest patches and mods for also

The refresh force is in the options for the Detonators/Forceware, for Radeons you need something like RefreshFix:

Actually Refresh Force is what I use for my radeon.

also...rabbitrunner, what kind of card do you have?

I have an FX5900 and it works fantastic....No othe problems in other games..I wonder if something went amiss in hte install process..sometimes when a screeen doesn't open..it might be missing the dll to do this..

again i need where to get the monitor refresh rate program you described or is this in the card or system somewhere???

I get my drivers from www.omegacorner.com, they are basically just modified driver packages based on the official ati/nvidia releases. The omega drivers come with a refresh rate program and an overclocking program.

I thought i wrote a reply to this last night..but I have re-installed the Game and it works fine now......kind of a good test as if it didn't work again then you would have problems....
