First Look At Windows XP Service Pack 2
"Security Pipeline obtained access to the first widespread beta of Microsoft's forthcoming Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) during the holidays. Microsoft has said that this beta represents a subset of what will be released when this software is finalized sometime during the first half of 2004.
We tested the new software on a couple of test machines, and found it to be very reliable during a couple of days use. It's not recommended that you install this beta in a production environment, however."
Man - those are real improvements! Nice....
I just hope that the pop-up blocker doesn't break the Google Toolbar and that the other added features don't cause massive conflicts with existing 3rd-party stuff.
Not too keen on all this 'Automatic Updating' malarkey and the popup blocker and firewall are non-entities as a user of Mozilla and hardware firewalls, however i can see of this being quite helpful to your average Joe Bloggs user
I'm sure someone will have figured out how to disable the automatic updating problem a week before SP2 comes out. I'm not too worried about it.
