getting access to old user permissions in XP
I just had reinstalled windows but onto another LARGER drive. Well I was happily copying files off my old C: drive and suddenly got an error saying I can't access "documents and settings/mruser". So I open up the security tab and set its rights to be inherited. Bingo I have access, I pat my own back. But every folder after that won't give me access or let me change user rights. I need to find a program or way to access the "my documents" of the previous install so I can copy my music. I seriously do NOT want to download that 21GBs of music again (I'm an avid user of the new napster service )
Help is really appreciated!

BTW I have no floppy drive (don't believe in them, even though one would be usefull we have CD-roms and so we should not be stuck on such antiquated equipment), and I'm willing to pay for software.
edit: also its 1:16am my time and I'm not sleeping till its fixed! don't let me die here peoples.
edit2: Seriously its 1:54am and I'm not sleeping...so erm...please someone read this...must have music...

I'm a bit pickled but here's my 2 cents.
Get on your root. C:\
On the folders there, on each one make sure you set yourself as having rights to all of the folders, and make sure that you allow for the child folders to get the same rights as the parent folder.

Done, but still no luck. What about 2k's recover console? Is there a way I can get a boot cd running with 2ks recovery disk? I was just reading about that.

Ok, so you bought a bigger drive and decided to transfer everything from the old hard drive to the new one.
Why not use the utilities that came from the new drive to transfer everything automatically?
