Win 98 Boot error
My power supply decided to die sometime last night, so today I popped in a new one and re-fired up the system.
On first boot up I got a blue screen error message:
KEBUGCHEK called by c002b30f
Error Code is 44
Parameters c1be89f0 0 0 0
System Halted
Turned system off and restarted OK but first boot always gave same error message.
Re-installed Win98 - that seemed to clear the problem but I just got another one of those messages.
Anyone have any ideas on what this is and how I get rid of it?

The power supply rarely dies alone. It likes to take "friends" with it.
I would suggest removing all cards but the video card and testing. Understand that everything from the motherboard to the cards to the actual drives may have been damaged.

Yuk---- seems to be running OK at the moment so I think I'll just let it "burn in" and decide to behave or not. I might have got lucky.
Thanks for the info

That's a true statement I had a PSU unit go out and it took all it's friends with it (some friend huh)

Well, it's been running ok, so guess I might have got lucky with that one. Have got a new problem now though - just starting new thread on that one.
Thanks all,
Graham
