Hate to see something so neat sounding sitting here with no replies sooo.

Has anyone checked that link? Sounds like an old but rather neat idea.

Is it for windows as well? looks like it started out for unix/linux but has been ported over. Newer versions look like its for both ( or all three ).

This would let me, theoretically, play some older games on my W2K setup as i see it. Correct?

Has anyone tried this or something similar? I know there another one out there that costs $$ just forget the name.

Thanks Swordfish. Good info. Hope to try it out.

its good there is both a windows as well as linux versions....

i had tried vmware before but newer versions needs to be registered for use.

google got me to that page....looks ok since its free/open source.

only concern is the memory...hopefully it doesn't take a lot to work....i will check how it goes.

Just click on the 'see all releases' link...there is an install file for windows.

great to c some free emulators around.

Apart from VMWare, there is also WinForLin

    http://www.winforlin.org/

There is also a MAC emulator, but you have to transfer the MAC BIOS image to your hard drive, or you can download one, or you can buy a PCI card with a MAC BIOS on it.

About the only OS that I have NOT seen been able to be emulated is BeOS.
