    can't clock 2100+ after crash!

My computer used to crash because I had temps of about 51 idle. I soon got a new heatsink and fan (Thermalright SLK-900A and a 92mm Vantec Tornado), and now my idle temps are in the low to middle 30s, sometimes lower.

Anyway, before my computer crashed I was able to overclock to about 2200+ up from 2100+ because, like I said, I was getting such high temps.

After my computer crashed, my CPU reset itself to a clock speed of 100. I try to clock up with my ultra low temps, but when I approach about a clock speed of 125, I get the blue screen of death or Windows XP Pro doesn't start at all! I leave AGP, DDR, and CPU voltages the same because I assume I don't need MORE power to get back to STOCK speed.

I have cheap-o Elixir and Samsung RAM, a 40 GB IBM HD, and a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (v. 2.0). Help me get back to overclocking!

Did you reset your FSB/AGP/PCI clock to 4:2:1 @133?

My BIOS looks nothing like that, as I use something called AMIBIOS. What should I change, again? Some settings I have here are CS# Latency, clock speed, and "top performance (on or off)."

Try relaxing your memory timings a little (use higher numbers), Also, as Baddog says, you must reset your AGP/PCI divider in order to maintain spec AGP/PCI/USBus speeds at higher FSB settings. If you don't have a divider entry in BIOS, try manually setting AGP to 66 MHz and PCI to 33 MHz.

Curious, I looked at the pins in the back of my hard drive. One of them is loose. I can literally grab it with my fingers and wiggle it. I'm assuming this is why no matter how many times I format and restore my system, a file becomes corrupted. I attribute this to the poor packing I did when I boxed my tower up and sent it to college.

I'm almost entirely sure that this is the problem, because my timings aren't very aggressive at all. Let me know...

Reset your bios and then try setting it back to stock speed.

Try this: Set all BIOS settings back to stock configuration. Then make sure the comp is running stable. After ensuring stability, start OCing. The 2100 palomino will not go much higher. You might get stable 2200 speeds, but I doubt you will get anything higher. The 2100 thorughbred will OC higher. It depends which core you have. I also have a Gigabyte board, but it is a bit newer than yours. I have the 2100 and I cant get it to run stable at 2200 speeds.
Like the others were saying, reset the BIOS first. Make sure the FSB is set to 133 and all the voltages are stock.
