OUCH! I didn't know kidneys were going for that much. I'm just glad that I work on jet airplanes and don't have any hearing anymore.

yes... I'm planning on doing as much studio work as I can with it. I have found that with this sort of card you can make professional quality recordings (understandably) for whatever your purposes.

    thanks guys!

Professional quality recordings? with a 400$ soundcard? Still wondering how you plan on using it? What other hardware are you planning on using?

    Hey zskills!
Now you have the card but what software do you reccomend for doing some music (be it editing, mixing, etc.)

I have browsed in harmony central but I want the opinion of someone who has use some of the software before.!!

Also, what instruments do you play?

look... i'll be totally honest. I'm in a band, I've seen my guitarist use our equiptment and the integrated sound card on his computer to make recordings that are, once mastered and sequenced, I believe close enough to professional caliber to be considered that.

eagle, he uses Cubase, I have it, and am learning it extremely slowly. I have never used a program with such a difficult learning curve.

regardless, I'm pretty quick to learn this stuff, and definately dedicated, so we'll see what happens.

oh yea, I'm the sax player, and here's my band www.twelvecents.com ... we're playing in downtown denver on the 16th of this month. so if any of you are around, please come by!!!

from what I understand, cakewalk and cubase are both sequencers, so that it's really a matter of preference.

under the Merch section of the website, there are samples... I would suggest listening to all of them, cause I (*biased opinion here) think that they're all great!!

    Zskills,
I checked the website once again. I like the music very much. I thought the music was tight.I personally thought the vocals were alittle weak, or atleast not to my likings. The vocals on "meant to be" sounded better to me, that the same guy singing that?
I am not trying to be rude by giving my opinion of the vocals, Just offering constructive criticism.
