    What version Linux?

Have you upgraded to the latest version?

This is related the the trackpoint pointing device. Are you using an external mouse with the trackpoint also enabled? or a trackpoint keyboard? Try disabling the trackpoint in the bios, or removing the external mouse.

This is what IBM says about it:
    http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview...sg1LWIK-3SR4PW

    861X
    (Pointing device error when
    TrackPoint is enabled.)
8611: System bus error-I/F between 8042 and IPDC.
    8612: TrackPoint error.
8613: System board or TrackPoint error.
    1. Reseat the keyboard cable on the sub card.

    3. External mouse
    4. Sub card
    5. System board.
