Heatsink question
I have a volcano 10 HSF for my cpu. I'm running everything at default speeds however, for soem reason i'm getting high temps on my cpu. I'm idleing at 42C and it gets to around 50C at full load. I'm pretty sure i installed everything correctly. I'm not really sure what to do. please help!

If you're SURE you installed it right (did you use thermal paste?), then it can probably be explained by a.) the Volcano 10's not actually very good, b.) poor case airflow, or c.) both. Are you using any case fans?

It would help to know...
what CPU your using?
what C.F.M Fan your using on the heat sink?
what type of heat sink compound your using?
How many case fans you have running and whether they inhale or exhale?
Room ambient temps?
MB System Temp?
Then we might be able to really help you.

As they stated above case airflow is big. I have 4 fans on switches. If I turn those off I have 3 fans running air throught the case. 1 PS fans and the default in through the front and out through the back.
If I turn off these 4 fans I can move my temps by 7-10C depending on load.
With all the toys running my Volcano 7+ is idling at 38C right now.
