    Modem

    I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you turn a modem on and off manually to check it? System says port already open when trying to use modem and suggest I turn the modem off and back on.

    that's only if you have an external modem. you can't do that with an internal modem.

    sounds like you need to reinstall the modem drivers.

    Thanks midknyte. Tried reloading the drivers, didn't work. I'm replacing the modem just in case it's the modem gone bad. Will know shortly.
