Sound advice for anyone thinking of buying a Dell really

Unfortunately, it's the same with evey PC vender out there (please tell me if you find out there is an exeption).
No reason to hate dell.
HP however, has alot more limitations.

The leap in the train of thought is quite a good one here moving from Dell -> Overcloaking. It is a rare jump. Sometimes evolution moves too fast.

the best question is.
What in the world are you doing in a Dell Support Forum? lol

I was googling aroudn the net for the clockgen IC for an optiplex GX240 at school, as I use it for folding
Interesting what I stumble upon

boy I oughta smack you!
Shame on you, shame shame thinking you can oc a dell
-
ACtually, if I could just open the **** case up, I could probably read off the PLL IC and put CPUFSB on it.
But I'd need a time when a teacher is not overlooking the classroom, like that time in December when I opened one up and peered inside; should have taken advantage of that
The cooling's actually not that bad, squirrel cage blowers and such, the case is a bit cramped though

ahh, my homebuilt is just looking better and better.

the biggest I've done to a dell was OC' it from 100mhz to 133 wow, a big difference
-
The micron board I got for free with a P200 only allows jumper settings to 200MHz. It has a PLL IC which may allow it to go higher on the FSB, I don't know.
