    replace 2*256 pc3200 with 512 stick?

Ive got an Abit NF7-S v2.0 board with 1GB of ram, 512mb crucial pc3200 and 2*256 samsung pc3200 because thats what i had around. Would i be better off selling the samsung ram and getting another 512 stick of crucial? The samsung and crucial are working fine together, just wondering if i would see a performance increase.

if your going to sell the 2 256 and get a 512 stick u'll see a little bit of performance with dual channel, in my opinion too much hassle for a tad bit of performance...........id keep the 2 256 and the 512 unless u really had to upgrade to 1.5 or 2 gigs of ram

The performance gain from the dual channel wouldnt be worth the money IMO. But yes, having 2x512 in slots 2 and 3 would be marginably better, and you could even throw in a third stick if you wanted. I don't see any need for more then 1gb of ram right now though.

1gb is really good for rendering and all those extreme video editing and graphics. 1.5-2 gbs would only be necessary for servers, and they would use ECC memory

keep your setup its fine as is
