    This is Probably A Stupid Question

    Over the weekend I had a LAN Party with some friends and when I tried to access one of my friends computers a thing came up in My Network Places asking for a password to access his computer. How do i setup my computer to where you need to password to access the shared files on it like this???

    Right click the folder to share and selectsahring - then add in the username - depends on what os you are using.

    All of the computers where in the same workgroup, where do i go to set up a password to access my computer on the workgroup?

    Using explorer.

    Select the folder

    then right click and select sharing.

    yea Sharing and Security.... right?? All that comes up is local sharing and security and network sharing and security

    XP by default sets up a firewall on your LAN connections too...this may complicate the issue...
