    Hi Rugor!
I think you can help me (or anyone)

I am upgrading my Motherboard. The new one states:
    "1 AGP slot, supports 1.5v, 8X / 4X AGP cards"
"Do NOT use 3.3V AGP card on K7S8X’s AGP slot! It may cause
    permanent damage!"
My vga card is a MS8808 VER:1A as read on the board. TNT2 Model64 32Mb.

I dont know the AGP Voltage on it, in the manual just says:
"AGP 4x/2x interface with full sideband support
    Robust system interface:
AGP 4x/2x interface (AGP 2.0 and AGP 1.0)"

So if the card supports 4x should be 1.5 volts.....
but it also supports 2x so is it 3.3v ???What is it??
Will this work on the MB?Or the same, is it 1.5v AGP card?
    Thank you for your help.

PS: I know it might go on a different thread...but somehow is similar to this one.

You would be better off to start a new thread for this.

Here is the link to your product page:

    http://www.msicomputer.com/product/d...?model=MS-8808

    And your manual is here:

    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...?UID=46&kind=2

Check it and let us know what it says.

    Thanks for the linx.....
but obviously I had already read that before posting.....
and in my post is quite clear :
"I dont know the AGP Voltage on it, in the manual just says:
"AGP 4x/2x interface with full sideband support
    Robust system interface:
AGP 4x/2x interface (AGP 2.0 and AGP 1.0)""

And yes ...I have emailed their support but havent had an answer in a week...that is why I post here.

If you look up the AGP 2.0 spec you will see that it runs at 1.5v signalling under AGP 4x transfers which is what your board can accept.

This 1.5v only requirement means that you cannot put an old AGP 1x/2x card in there without damaging something.

If the card runs at AGP 4x it will do 1.5v and is safe.

    Thanks.
I will cross fingers and try...
I know the board is the source for power..I would expect a 3.3volts gpu simply not to work because it doesnt get enough power ...but I dont get how it would damage the board...
I havent the MB yet.So I guess the AGP x could be set on the BIOS?And as long as my gpu seems to have dual power I guess it switches automatically to the AGP x mode the MB sets to work..right?

Also I posted about this same thing mentioning my gpu model:

    http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthre...hreadid=152893
    where Peter M answer was:
"TNT2 cards are 3.3V-only, although plenty of them are incorrectly keyed to fit into 1.5V-only slots just as well. Time to move on."

but I was given this reply in:
    http://forum.msi.com.tw/thread.php?p...506#post207506

"That is a 4x Vid Card. All 4x and 8x vid cards work with 8x mobos. All 4x and 8x mobos work with all 8X vid cards.
P.S. If the card does not fit the AGP Slot on the mobo, the voltage is wrong. (The only time this is not true is with some old Vodoo Cards that were put on the wrong PCBs.) "

    Thanks again and Happy Xmas.

3.3 and 1.5 is referring to the signal voltage.. the voltage the card gives back to the motherboard, if the motherboard wants 1.5v it will have the resistors for 1.5v. 3.3v will be too much and possibly cause damage
