getdataback for ntfs help please !!

excuse my wrong language please cause i don't speak english very well..... here is my probleme :
I'm using getdataback afer losing all the files of my (D) part (caused by partition magic ___>"merge part" tools..) . I have a little problem ; getdataback found a lot of files that can be recover but after working the prog replace all the files in 450 folder with very strange name like "[008dft...]" and all the files are unvalid when I try to open them... for exemple an .exe files says that" files are missing to run the instalation", an .avi files says "invalid format" , an .jgg files says "no preview available"........................ so I refound the files I lost but I can't open any of them !!
If anybody can help me to figure out how to use my recovers files again it's will be very helpfull for me...
    thank you very much.

If you thought you'd simply be able to recover a program's folder and run it like nothing happened you're sadly mistaken. Reinstalling the software is the only way to fix that. As for the avis and jpgs, the avis might not have the proper codec on the system you're trying to view them on and the jpgs may have to be opened with something like Photoshop or some other graphics editor and saved again.

    re getdataback

thank you but i recovered the setup files of my programes (.exe) and i can't launch them and for the video and pics i already have photoshop quick times... because i had lost just the partition where were my files, the other partition (c) who contain the system and progs is safe and clean. now i recover the files of (d) with getdata back but they appears in 450 folders with strange names [found0000/0012545...]... but the files are inside with good extentions and sizes but i can't open them....
i think i still have the goods codecs cause if i download an mp3 or avi files i can open them. but the mp3 and avis i recover are "invalid files" when i try...
thank you for your help--- tell me if you have any ideas ?

I've never used the getdatabacksoftware before. Read the instructions that came with the program. I see a screenshot there asking which files to recover, so it has to be possible. I don't think I can be of any more help.

If your files are very important and you cannot get them to work check at www.ontrack.com and see if they can help you. Data recovery is $$$ but if you need your data maybe they can help.
    Good Luck
