    ASUS K7M-RM BIOS Issue

I updated my BIOS on my ASUS K7M-RM motherboard and now I get the following at boot, before memory check. Note: I can not get to BIOS setup because the system stops at the error.

    "Checking NVRAM"

I have looked around the internet and this looks like a case of either fried BIOS or needing to clear the CMOS. Is this correct? Can you provide a solution? By the way, where are the motherboard jumpers to clear the CMOS?

    Welcome aboard!

Lost your manual? Unplug the PC and remove the battery for a few seconds.

Tried that and still doesn't clear it. I have the manual but it doesn't discuss clearing cmos on motherboard only thru bios.

How do you know that removing the battery doesn't clear it? It may well be a bad flash.

Try removing unnecessary PCI cards and unplugging all peripherals.
