    Core voltage vice I/O voltage

I just received my TD2 so I can overclock my Athlon 750 MHz Slot A. I'm waiting on a new fan before installing it. This is the first time I have tried to overclock a CPU so I'm learning as I go. One of the things I'm not sure about is the currrent voltage of my CPU. One of the programs I use (AIDA32) tells me the core voltage of my CPU is 1.75, while the I/O voltage is 1.6. If I use Freshdiagnosis it tells me both the supported voltage(s) and current voltage are 1.6. I know I'm supposed to start with the current CPU speed and voltage when I install the TD2, but I'm not sure which voltage to use. I guess I should go with the lower voltage to be on the safe side huh?

I read that I could remove the heat shield from the CPU to find the actual CPU type and voltage, but I don't want to have to do that. I have to remove the plastic case around the back of the CPU as it is to install the TD2. and I don't want to push my luck.

Don't touch the IO voltage even if you have the option. (personal opinion) I'd start with the 1.6 volt for the CPU and go from there You might find the correct voltage at the AMD site but then again maybe not.

found this right here at sysopt.

Boy .... if I could think of a good signature I would sign stuff with it.
