Power supply or Case ?
Hello all sysopt members
today I'm looking for a Power Supply or case ( if necessary )
is there a power supply that has 6 or more 4PIN adapter ? ( 4 pin = the part you hook to your HD or CD rom for power
I have never seen one before and want to know if they're available
why do I need this ?
I have 4 HARDDRIVES, 1 ZIP drive, 1 DVD Player, 1 CD/RW and I want to be able to have them all connected in one computer at the same time
Problem is my system power supply only has 4 - 4pins jacks and 1 little power jack that goes to the FLOPPY power
whenever I want to use certain drive I have to DISCONNECT one and connect athe other
a link to a store/site that provides or sell this would be appreciated
or do I need to install 2 power supply in one case ? ( possible ? )
system:
Intel Pentium 4 - 2.0 GHz 400 FSB
MSI MOBO
CDRW 48x24x48
DVD
Radeon 7500 video
2 WD and 2 MAXTOR Harddrives , 40, 80, 80 & 120 GIGS all 8 MB cache 7200 RPM
Thanks in advance.

Just get a sufficient power supply. Y adapters for that purpose are inexpensive enough. I get them for about $3 at the locala computer shop. I have a couple in my case right now primarily becuase of aesthetics. It allows me to route the cables differently.

cant beat price.
You got promise cards for all that stuff? How bigs your PSU? If it doesnt have enough leads its probably for a reason.

Make sure you have plenty of power for that.
My friend has 2 400W power supplies running in his case right now. The case has to be made for it though and you probably have to know what you are doing.
I have a thermaltake 480W xaser purepower and it has 3 (3 foot?) long wires that contain 3 (4 pin) with 1 (floppy) connector on each of them for a total of 9 (4 pins) and 3 (floppys).
Either buy a new power supply and be safe or try to add tons of those connectors Just be careful.

Thanks Ray, Crossedup and Skoogra
Crossed up, you meant this ?

my current powersupply is 400W
and YES I have a Promise card 133 ( received with my MAXTOR HARDDRIVE when I purchased )
Skoogra, I'm gonna do a search for that thermaltake 480W xaser purepower that sounds what I should have , if its not too expensive I'll get that, or I'll just try some of the Y adapters. Thanks

0hno,
I have a generic 400w power supply, and it is sufficent to run my two hard drives, cd burner, dvd burner, 5 system fans, and 2 cold cathode lights, in addition to the mobo, cpu, and vid card...i think that a decent psu will be more than adequate for what you are looking for
