Napster to return by Xmas
A California based company named Roxio will soon announce a new strategy for the Napster Music Service. Napster 2.0 will be completely rebuilt and users will not have to choose between downloads or subscription. This new version should be available by Christmas 2003. Roxio purchased Napster after it was shut down as a result of numerous lawsuits.
Company's must know something that we don't. If this company is bringing Napster back while the RIAA is doing this then that means either they are foolish or they know something.
Just thought this was interesting....kinda made me think.
i heard that it was going to be subscribtion based...you pay some money get the files(copyrighted) you wanna download. Thats legal i suppose.
Won't be as much fun if it's legal, but nothing ever is I suppose.
It's not the pay per that may be the success problem It's subscribing to the service in the first place on a monthly basis, unless they thow in automatic so many downloads per.
But its got to be more than the songs you didn't want in the first place. I was looking at Buy.com's Doo Wop download availability. I've never heard of the songs they were offering and didn't offer any songs I'd probably want!
