is the one you don't ask. So with that in mind, I'm in the process of upgrading my wifes pc. I purchased an ASUS A7V266-C mainboard and the limits for the CPU is 1.4Gig+

Am I correct to assume that provided the bus speed is 266Mhz I can go higher than 1.4Gig?

Should be able to put in an athlon xp cpu in there plus check asus for a bios upgrade that could let you put in a faster cpu than originally set. Might as well go as far as you can, you don't say what you have in there now unless you mean the 1.4

Actually I don't have anything in there yet because I figure if I can go higher than 1.4 I will.
