Question regarding bus speeds
I am currently looking for parts to build a system. I am looking at an Asus A7N8X Deluxe (with 400mHz FSB). The processor I have chosen is the Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton, i believe), which is capable of a 333mHz bus speed. Will the ram i have (512MB DDR @ PC3200 / 400mHz) be limited to 333 because of the limitations of the processor?
The reason I am getting the 2500 and not a 400mHz bus processor (like the 3200 ) is a purely economical choice.
Thanks in advance!

Don't look at it as "limiting the RAM". Look at it as underutilizing it instead. That means you have plenty of headroom for overclocking, right?

This is the part where I show my newbie colors. I have no idea how to overclock, and what it entails, although I am not afraid, but rather interested to find out.

You do it in BIOS setup - in the case of this CPU, you just unlock the multiplier by raising the setting to 12 or higher. You can also raise the front side bus (host clock) speed instead.
