Vietcong: Fist Alpha
Computer and video game publisher Gathering, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. unveiled VIETCONG FIST ALPHA for PC.
For most G.I.s one tour of duty in Vietnam was more than enough, but not for the boys of Fist Alpha. A team of US Special Forces who are the best of the"Green Machine" determined to stop Charlie in his tracks. Taking you back to the 'Nam, VIETCONG FIST ALPHA is the official Mission Disc for the verysuccessful VIETCONG. Released in April 2003, VIETCONG continues to achieve chart success across Europe and Australia.
Placing you in the highlands of Vietnam, VIETCONG FIST ALPHA brings 7 brand new single player missions as well as 8 new multi-player maps to expand thatjungle experience of Vietnam in 1967. With 6 new weapons as well as bayonets for weapons and machetes along with even more artillery raining shells down onboth US and NVA alike, VIETCONG FIST ALPHA also brings the ubiquitous B52 Bomber and F-105 Thunderchief and F4 Phantom fighters into play.
"With VIETCONG FIST ALPHA we are once again leading the way with an authentic interpretation of Vietnam in 1967," said Graeme Struthers, Vice President ofGathering. "We have also talked to fans of VIETCONG and asked them what they would like to see next - FIST ALPHA promises to add to the whole experience ofthe 'Nam."
So break out the bug juice, lock and load and get ready for a world of pain. VIETCONG FIST ALPHA - September 2003.

Long as they don't have tunnels which are just bloody annoying, especially when playing on Veitcong or Hard levels. Also the fact that you can run around in circles for awhile and since you move slow in them, making a wrong turn is a pain in the ****. Still I love the game, I just use safe games from a previous complete playthrough to skip the tunnel missions as I just hated them. Loved the rest of the game and will most likely if I have time, get the add-on.

Yeah, id dint mind the tunnels at first, but the second set were just flamin annoying and felt like fillers to make the game last longer
Other than that one of the best games in recent memory

'Tis a good game, the MP was OK too, even though it lagged like Counter-Strike 0.1.

It was a serious pain the *** in the tunnels that your looking for marv in as all you had was a pistol and their would be 2 and 3 enemies in each room. Then one room, if they fire enough shots, 2 others rooms hear it and you have 6 more VC's barrelling at you. Makes for one annoying experience.
Are they ****ing bats or something, as they seem to see in the dark pretty damned well compared to when I turn my light off, can't see ****.

That's reality for you! Nowadays, games tend to be very realistic.

Playing on VietCong is nearly reality, other than you can't ressurect yourself to a certain point in time. Two shots from anything is fatal unless at range for the weapon. If you do survive, your life is nearly drained, so being healed once gives you about 2/3rds your original life, so the next time your shot, you will most likely die unless it's with a pistol, an assualt rifle or automatic carbine at long ranges as the game after x distance drops the damage of weapons I've noticed - thus why headshots with the two sniper rifles are critical (the radio mission is the easiest mission to actually observe this). If they are close (halfway up the hill - to where it would be worth trying and hitting someone with an M-16 or AK a shot in the chest will kill, at the base of the hill it won't unless you hit the head. The rifles (esp the SVD since that is the only sniper rifle the enemy has) will kill you with that much life regardless of range - on VC level quite a few NVA use it against you... it is bloody annoying.
If games were really anywhere near realistic... a 1/10th of the enemies a level would be enough to make you have to reload quite often.

I hope nobody will create a VR game that will immerse the player into the gaming environment to experience the reality of war. That can be harmful to physically sick people. It can cause heart attack and asthma attack. Nowadays, the FPS games are quite scary and heart-stomping.
Sometimes, I really can't take it anymore.
