    Star Trek: Elite Force II

Has anyone bought and played this game? I like to know the first-hand experience. The critics say the graphics are damned nice and detailed. Is that true? Can it be played on my PC?

    My PC Configuration:

    1) Intel Pentium 2.4B GHz

    2) Intel Desktop Board

    3) GeForce 4 MX 440 128MB DDR

    4) 512MB DDRRAM

    5) 40GB HDD

    6) SoundBlaster Live 'Value'

Dude.....you should know better. I should be asking the above question.

    I have a 1ghz tualitin cpu with a ati 7500, i have more than enough ram (1gig)

I think MAYBE the graphics card might cause issues....maybe not.
I have problems with my games using the gf card only it had 64megs of vram......i did not know they had a 128meg version...

Seriously cbh ............give your computer to me.....I'll give you mine.....then ask that question.........LOL.

I think that is a nice set up how high can u oc the system?

    sheesh...

Yeah, it'll run fine, won't be able to use all of the eye-candy with your Mx440 though.

Got it and beat it a few weeks ago.

I think it was a great game, well worth the time put into it.

Comparison with Unreal 2, EF was much better, longer and I got into the game more. Was still fairly easy, rarely had trouble in normal mode, albeit there were a few puzzles I had to figure out and reload on. Still a very linear game as are all FPS's.

It was still overall a pretty short game, I think I beat it in about 7 days of playing. The graphics are good, weapons are pretty nice with some unique features. A lot of the enemies are cool and the game leads you well. Also I like the teammates aspect of it even if they are only there a short time.

The game plays awesome in the dark, very spooky at time and gave me a few jumps on a couple levels.

Overall I'd say def worth it!

Oh and I played it on max everything on my XP2600+, 1Gig ram, GF4 4200 128MB if that gives you any comparison.

What do you mean by that? I just upgraded my PC and I think I chose the wrong graphics card, man! ****! Now I have to wait for two years or more to change that stupid card. I have simply wasted my money on the upgrade.

Anyway, my monitor can't support anything higher than 800x600 and refresh rate is 60Hz so it won't cause any problem right?

The Geforce 4 MX 440 8x (or even 4x) is a better card than the 7500, but very slightly. And with twice as much memory, the MX 440 should support higher resoulutions than the 7500. I had to find the answer to that question myself about a month ago, becuase I needed to pick between the 2.

Oh man! My card is so weak. I shouldn't have bought a year ago. I have made a stupid mistake. Darn! Now I've to wait for two years to save up enough money to buy Radeon 9700 and a new monitor. My old monitor is giving me a lot of problems. I can't play Rise of Nations or Warcraft 3 with it. It just can't project the game menus on the screen. Total darkness! Only sound and music! Argh! On the other hand, I can play C&C: Generals.

if i where you i would get a new monitor as soon as possible. running fps games at 60hz will give you a headache and damge your eyes.

Why do people say that? I know it flickers at a slower rate but I used 60hz since 1996 to 2000 without knowing about the refresh rate and it caused no problems with me. I think its only certain people.

Of course now its set at 85hz which is recommended by the monitor.

Does anyone else notice that going from 60hz to 85 hz makes the text fuzzier or blurrier?

Oh and you should be able to play EF no problem at 800x600 @ 60hz.

Guys! Thanks for advising me on the refresh rates! Thanks! Well! I can't seem to find any walkthru on this game. I searched www.gamefaqs.com but I can only find the secrets and the demo walkthru. Strange!

If you need help in the game visit the official game forums. They should have already had someone ask the question you search for. Just press "search"
