Just wondering about

I have a compaq laptop. In device manager, it has a modem listed at com3 and above the modem it has HCFMODEMWDM listed at irq 11. Just wondering why it shows, almost like it has two modems, but it has just one. Thought someone might know why, its not a big deal, things work fine, jst wondering. Thanks for replys.

Forgot to mention that under the hcfmodemwdm is has modem enumerator

I would suspect it is because one peripheral sometimes shows up as multiple devices. Like a sound card that also registers the joystick port, and a DOS emulator. The Yamaha OPL3-Sax I used to have registered four devices in the control panel.
