    D-Link DI-714P+

I recently bought this router and 2 D-Link DWL-520+ cards. The router is in the basement of my house. It is connected by ethernet to a computer with dialup internet. I am trying to share files and the internet with this. I have the 2 other computers upstairs with the wireless cards. The computers are side by side. But I can only get a good signal in one of them. The other doesn't pick the signal worth a ****. Is there a way to get this to work? And how would I share the internet? All computers are running Windows XP Pro.

The Router, will automatically take care of the internet share

what you want to TEST with the one NOT getting signal

is to move it to a lower room and see if it works there

Is there something I have to do with the 2 other computers to get internet? I ran the Networking Wizard on both of them. But I still can't load web pages.

Running the networking wizard when the client PCs can't get a signal from the router will be fruitless. Try taking one PC downstairs and testing it there.

first you need to set up ics on the dialup machine.

you need to kill the dhcp on the wireless router and set the router's ip to be part of the 192.168.0.x subnet (200 would be ok)

then follow the instructions on this site for "Wireless Router as an Access Point"

So all I really have to do is disable DHCP on my router and turn off filters and I should be able to share my dialup connection through the wireless router?

ics act like a dhcp server (dhcp allocator service) and your router has dhcp. having 2 dhcp servers in one network will mess you up (unless you know what you're doing).
