    Problem with Intel 865GBF Motherboard

I recently purchased Intel 865GBF Motherboard alongwith Intel 2.4 HT Processor, when I load the windows ME it works without loading the graphics driver (Intel extreme graphics controller 2), but when this is loaded, ME doesn't display the windows screen atall except in Safe mode.
The same thing happened in windows SE.
Can anyone suggest a way out.

    welcome to syopt

this post looks screwy - darn frame to the right - can't see my own typing

seems like a driver problem - go to display properties / settings / advanced and select PCI VGA display adapter - reboot

see if the intel display .inf file is in the windows/inf/others folder and delete it

then try (again) to use the CD that came with the mobo to find the driver and reinstall - make sure you've got the right one

hope this helps and moving the thread

As far as I know WinME doesn’t support HT technology and it's recommended to disable HT in the bios if using an operating system that doesn’t support HT or problems will occur.
