    Sony 21" CRT Monitor CPD-E540B

I've been thinking about getting the Sony 21" CRT Monitor CPD-E540B from Newegg. The average rating it got was 5 out of 5 stars. However in reading the actual written reviews I'm not so sure it deserves this rating. Many people commented on blurryness and having to do a ton of adjusting to get it to look right and that it tends to be kinda dark. Does anyone have this monitor or know some one who is happy with it, or are these problems mentioned just part of the deal when buying such a huge monitor. 'Cause if I drop $500 on a monitor I expect it to be pretty darn good.
    Thanks...

For sure - it's harder to make a perfect 21" display than a 17" one. It's best to buy locally in case you're unhappy with it. I've had very good luck with 2 Misubishi 21" displays - perfect out of the box. I know Sony stuff is good - I have a 19" Sony too.

As I've said, buy local and see if you like it. If you don't, return it. It beats paying shipping charges on something that heavy.
