Helping Out Gokudan cooling his PC :D

lol... well i just upgraded my pc and changed some things, here it is the actual configuration:

    - Athlon XP 2000+ (Boxed AMD CPU)
    - 256 MB DDR266 PC2100.
    - KT4 Ultra (Pure Version, w/o Nortbridge Fan.) On-Board CMI8738/C3DX Sound.
    - Chaintech AG446 GeForce4 MX440SE 128MB DDR w/ TV Out. (No fan)
    - Western Digital Caviar 30GB WD300AB HD.
    - IOMEGA ZIP 250MB Internal Drive.
    - Lite-On DVD-ROM LTD163.
    - LG CD-RW/DVD-ROM GCC-4120B.
    - Intel V92 HaM Data Fax Voice.
    - CNET PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.

    these are the actual temps:

    Without Work load:

    -CPU: 38°C
    -System: 36°C

    With Work Load:

    -CPU: Around 39°C to 42°C
    -System: Arround 37°C to 38°C

The temps were a little bit lower, when i installed the new chaintech video card both temps went up around 2°C.... i already have one fan installed, it's in the back of the case (pulling out the air) as you should apreciate on the picture, i was able to get one more fan and one fan grill, so i want you to help me out on some things:

1.- Is my fan properly positioned on the back of the case under de PSU? or should i change it's place?

2.- Where should i install the new fan?? on the Top of the Case between the PSU and the drive bays or, in one side of the case blowing (or pulling out) air directly to the video card.

NOTE: Only a heavenly strike of luck from the heaven could make me find another fan grill, they do not arrive here in venezuela, i just got the one i have from my sister's wrecked PSU from his COMPAQ DESKPRO EP comp.....so don't suggest me to add a second side fan unless u can help me on how to substitute the fan grill with other thing or whatever ^_^ hehehe

I will appreciate all of your answers, and thanks in advance for all of your posts....

P.S if you have problems to see the fan under the PSU say it and i will take another snapshot off my computer guts n_nU

Yeah the fans okay under there, make sure its blowing OUT of the case, ideally you want another one underneath it and they should both be 80mm in size minimum.

Mirror this sety up down in the fron and bottom of the case but with the fans blowing IN

It seems like there's a space to put the second one under the first one Bigjakkstaffa, but there's no space and i can't put one 80mm on the front cuz the only available space to do so is where the fron USB/Audio connectors integrated circuit and ports are.... so, there's no way i could put on the lower part of the fron, and from that space up there are only full drive bays >_< *sob* what can i do???

the comp case is new also.... here it is the link to the pics and info:

Im not a big fan of Codegen products having had to put up with a really shoddy 350W PSU for about 2 years from em. Try and pickup a Chieftec Dragon midi case, very roomy soldi case and has all the fan mounts you need to set up a great case ventilation airflow

    Who's Gokudan ?!

Tempz are just fine. Another front bottom intake fan as Jakk already suggested wouldn't heart
Another suggestion : I have about the same cooling setup in my case (full-tower, but below the PSU it's almost like yours), but in addition to bottom intake fan I also have my IBM 75GXP mounted in a lowest bay cooled by two small intake fans, which also helps proper ventilation a little bit.

To Bigjakkstaffa & ND: Please Read note.... >_< don't have any money left, plus i don't live in US so i can't find all the products you say altough i know 'em cuz i surf almost every computer hardware site on the net hehe... i gotta stick with this case

Can't make a hole in front of the case because of what i said on my last post...

i can find 2 or more fans maybe but no grill.....where could i put the fans to work efficiently?

hey ND would you believe that there are no HDD Fans sold in venezuela? i saw once way back ago.....maybe like a year ago....well....i haven't seen another yet lmao

and Bigjakkstaffa, i'm no fan of codegen neither....from what i have seen i like the brand that alienware uses on their pc's also some cases from X-Gear or something like that, also Voodoo computers and Thermaltake....oh man i wish i had some money, and a credit card......and more money and......more money well you get the picture
    :

P.S i don't have any problem making holes on the case ^_^ lol
