Do I have reboot when I make some changes to my Registy under Win XP ?

    Hi folks,

Assume I need to make 5 tweaks to my registy under my Windows XP Pro, may I know do I have to make the registy change one at a time, once the change is done, reboot the PC and repeat this 5 times ?

Or Can I make those 5 changes at the same time and only reboot my PC once ??

    Please advise.

You can make the changes all at once, then reboot. But, mind you, if one of the changes you make hoses the system. You won't know which one did it.
Its always best to make a backup of the registry, before making any changes to it.

    Hello Imperion1

Thanks for your prompt reply and I did back up my registry before I make the changes. Of course, I totally agree with you, prefer to do it once at a time.

    Have a nice weekend !

yes it's true Some windows updates are Touchy, if you don't reboot when you are supposed to, it'll not work right even if you reboot later

i've seen that way to often before, when i was trying to cut down the time by rebooting less and installing more
