    Great Free Utility

    www.mlin.net

The site has a bunch of great utilities. Startup Monitor is a freeware that lets you know when something is installing itself to execute at startup.

It lets you know when you install a program (or file) if it is trying to install itself to execute at bootup. It'll let you know when a file you just opened wants to execute each time at startup, such as instant messaging.

Sometimes it takes some of us a bit to understand the practicality of some of these utilities.

I once tried to use a shareware mouse lock. The demo locked up on me so bad, I had to reformat. In those days, I didn't know any other way!
