I need help! I haev a IBM PC 300PL and 300GL Japanese BIOS! how to change the BIOS???
I already know how to change and update a motherboards bios.. but I have a problem with my IBM Personal Computer 300GL and 300PL Is there a way to replace the original Japanese bios with an updated english bios?? I cant understand anything on the CMOS/BIOS setup cause it is in Japanese, anyone here knows where to download IBM PC 300GL and 300PL bios/rom update on the net?
I also plan to change the Harddisk of the 300PL from 1.2 gig to a 20 gig partitioned drive... is it possible to use a 20gig drive on a 300PL PC? I tried it but the other half on the partition cant be read, but when you run windows 98 it reads the two partition.
The specs of my 300PL is:
Pentium 233 Mhz.
Matrox onboard video card
Crystal onboard sound card
32 MB RAM
1.2 gig HDD (Im going to replace it with a 20 gig HDD is is possible?)
The specs of the 300GL is:
Pentium 200 Mhz.
16 MB RAM
No sound card i guess
any reply will be appreciated!
thnx!

Mod w/ an attitude
Did you check the IBM website?
What model numbers do you have? It should be a 4 digit number such as 6284 etc.

Could I perhaps suggest a Japanese counter agent? I know an old Japenese man that needs work.

Look on the back of the case for a silver label with the Machine type and m/n , ex. 6892 , 16U .
Use this 7 digit number here
You'll need to refine the search after you submit .
