Good way to start a flame war.

The FX 5800 has a more advanced architecture, but the 9700's is more efficient. It has a lower clock speed and a larger process but runs both cooler and slower.

The FX 5800 is somewhat faster in raw FPS but loses the advantage with AA and AF. The Radeon also has better image quality AA and AF.

Games have more problems with ATI than Nvidia hardware, often requiring driver updates or patches. ATI is currently releasing WHQL certified drivers as fast or faster than Nvidia is releasing beta drivers.

Both require additional power, but Nvidia uses a Molex connector rather than the floppy connector ATI uses.

The FX 5800 has the "Dustbuster."

ATI traditionally has better 2D image quality.

I would go ATI in this case. Both cards are very fast, but ATI looks better and I don't have to turn the sound up on the games to drown out the video card fan.

Wow. Thanx alot man! I really appreciate your response.
    I'll ask you this also....
Is there a way to make the card use NO AA Or the other one?
The only options in control panel for it is Game preferance or set the level to X'2 or higher.
Actually I'm just paranoid cause I have a 1800xp, 512 ram pc2700 and a radeon 9700 pro and my fps drops to about 30 in battles or lower.... GRRRRRR

Set AA and AF to application preference. The little tick-box on the left.

Then go into the game's video settings and make sure it's not enabled. Unless the game specifically lets you turn it on it' will stay off.

That's all you have to do.

I have a 9500 Pro and only 256MB of RAM on my XP 1800+ but wouldn't play without AA again. I love it. But I don't play FPS heavy games either.
