    temps for watercooling ??

    t bird 14 @ 1500
cpu 40c no load, 46c load
    system 30c
    fan sucking out the top
    side fan blowing at cpu
    copper h/s and fan
    thermal pad

If I fit a cheap water cooling system (£80) how much lower can i expect the temps to go

in a real Water Cooling system, the CPU temp should be AT or lower than Room temperature

on an AMD XP 1900 with a Volcano 9 and Altic Silver the CPU temp is only 35 c

    iddle

room temp is aprox 34 c in most countries

when playing 3D games around 48c to 50c

    i7-3970X, Corsair H80, 32GB G.SKILL, ASUS RAMPAGE4 Formula, VG278H(3x27")+3D Vision2, EVGA GTX 690(x2), OCZ ZX1250W, 256GB Vertex4(x2), Seagate 3TB(x5), Antec LanBoyAir, Logitech G510, G600, Z560THX, T.Flight Hotas, PZ35, Sennheiser PC163D, TrackIR5

Not true. Even with the best water cooling system can't get temps under ambient unless the water is chilled.

My setup is at 34C right now, running folding@home. It's starting to get warm out, and my water is kinda dirty.

Room temp better not be 34C in most countries - that's 93F! My case temp is 87F (31C).

A cheap watercooling setup will be worse than your current setup. Watercooling is only worth it if you research it first, and buy components seperately. The poor h20 kits greatly outnumber the good ones, and the good ones are very expensive.

You can build a good custom setup for $150.

Well 30c to 34c during Summer time

and 18c to 25c during Winter time, and if you have a good heating system

else you might have a room temp of under 18c

Usually my System case temp is 32c also

as per the H2O cooling kits

it's true, the good ones are waaaaay expensive, and all the other ones reallly leaves you pondering if it's even worth trying

Do you live in a heater? So your summer time home temps are 86F-93.2F

Jeeze that is a bit warm, lol maybe you should re-think that sentance.

Unless of course you live in your computer case...

What do ya guys think about the Koolance EXOS, I just bought one and it still hasn't shipped out... Should I cancil my order? I was thinking about geting the exos and the hook up for my P4 sock 478 2.4Ghz and a hook up for my GPU and MB Chip, then I wanted to build onto it like add a couple more radiators and maybe adventually get a mini refigerator and put a couple holes in it and put a big radiator in it... Anyways should the Koolance EXOS be suitible??? I have a huge case so putting more stuff in it is no problem.

    system specs... see attached

The Exos will perform decent, but not great for a water cooling system. For $210, you could put together a custom system that would outperform it by at least 5C under load, and possibly much more. The problem with the Exos is lack of upgrade room. It uses horribly small tubing, underpowered pumps and a restrictive water block.

Here's the list of parts I made. Look and see what you can get for $210:

(one from each set of "<"s)

    Waterblock:
<White Water Rapids block - $75ish from dtek in a few weeks
    <Logiccooling Evolution block -$61
    <Swiftech MCW-5000 $50
    <Dtek TC-4 Rev 2 - $48
    <Danger Den Maze 3 $42
    <Swiftech MCW-462 $50

    Radiator
    <"Big **** " style heatercore setup -$40
    <'73 Chevy Caprice Heatercore + homemade shroud - $30
<above with JPI performance "scoop" shroud -$115 (expensive, but high-quality)
    <Chevy Chevette heatercore $25 + homemade shroud
<Dtek Cooler Core combo (same as above) $50
<Black Ice Extreme - $60 (only use if no room for a heatercore)

Fans (Need 2 for the Caprice Core or a push-pull setup)
    <Panaflow 120x38s $14
    <Delta 120x38s $12
    <Sunon 120x38s $12

    Pump
    <Iwaki MD-15R $115 - $130
    <Eheim 1250 $80
    <Danner Mag 3 $45
    <Eheim 1048 $55
    <Maxijet 1300 $25
    <Maxijet 900 $20

    Tubing
<1/2" ID Tygon with 1/8" walls
    <1/2" ID Clearflex 60

    Extras (need all of these)
    +Metal automotive hose-clamps $5 for 10
+T-Fitting for filling and bleeding $2
    +Barbs for pump $4
    +Teflon tape for barbs $1
