Major Help Please
I'm building a New PC.
I have a Asus A7m266-d Dual Processor Motherboard
Currently Only running a Single 1800+ Athlon
When I try to install XP I get Loads of B.S.O.D images, Like the Following.
Stop : 0x0000008E (0xc000001D,0x81a12bf0,0xf87b5c50,0x00000000)
Any Attempt to Install XP fails..
The CPU is NEW
The RAM is new from Crucial (Guaranteed to work with the board)
The Motherboard is also new..
Any Ideas Please as it's now driving me to drink.

Is the other socket terminated and or disabled in bios if option is there? Should say something in manual about it.

Will Take a Look in the Manual and report Back to you.

I had that same problem when I built my computer... This may sound wierd, but all I did was take my round ide cables out and replace them with the plain old flat standerd flat ones... don't know if your using round but it fixed it for me.
Don't have any idea why.
