    need advice!!!! please

ok i wanna put a home video thats 100 min onto a cd, what compression should i use but still keep the best quality, i wanna watch it on my computer and dont want it to be pixalized. i was thinking of mpeg-1 but that would almost cut it, i am using 700mb cdrs and a mpeg-1 at 29 fps and ntsc size would be 900 mb. if i save it as a small file and i want to view it on full screen would the quality be real bad?
    please help this time!!!

Just wondering but what capture (hardware) product are you using?

The capture product will limit you to what you can save the file as... some support MPG-1 or MPG-2.

Also, you must think about codecs and who your target audience for the video is for. If its for someone else make sure you use a video codec that is universal (like MPG-1/2) so others can view it easily without having to download other codecs.

    Hope that helps.

If you have at least a 500MHz processor, then divx is the way to go. It results in the best picture quality using low bitrates. A 100 minute, 320x240 movie encoded using divx should easily fit onto a single CD.

ok sounds like a good plan w/ divx but what would i use to capture it, should i capture it in sumthin else then convert it? if i capture it in mpeg and convert it the quality would still be bad no? do u know of any software i can use to directly capture to divx using the ati aiw?
    jak

also should i save it as a file isntead of video under nero , cause this web site says dont save divx as a vcd
