Alton V694D search for BIOS update

does ANYONE know where I can go to get a BIOS update for the Alton V694D motherboard? I can't find a site anywhere.
When all else fails, read the dang manual.

What CPU are you using? Your mobo is more then likely a PCChips if you purchsed this you need to look at the paper work it should have a PCChips number on it. Something maybe like 754LMR or something to that effect. I installed one of these mobo for a family member and haven't had any problems with it but the box they come in is ALTON so it make take some doing to find it.

Also what is the chip set that is on it.

You might be SOL I dug out the manual that came with the Alton mobo that I purchased and here is the link for support out of the manual it don't look good but if you do as I stated above you might track them down or be looking for a new mobo. I think I would give that some serious thought. Good Luck your going to need it.

I think that mrrobotto is right about it being a pcchips. The only other thing that I could find on it is someone stating that it was a pcchips brand.

They seem to not want you tobe able to find them. I have to new alton MB here at work that has no web info.

Ah come on folks, how hard is that. Google search for "alton v694d", first page of links and you know it's a PC-Chips M790 ... whose BIOS unsurprisingly is at ...

    ftp://ftp.pcchips.com.tw/BIOS/M790/

well, I found the mobo book, and the url in it is no good. at www.pcware.com they basically say "we want nothing to do with Alton stuf to do anymore". Couldn't findanything on the boardeven closely related to PCChips. All it had were two stickers in it.. one said Alton and the other said V694D. Looks like I'm SOL after all. Oh well. Been wanting to upgrade to AMD mobo and chip anyways. lol

Yeah, once you discover that you can't get reliable support or information its best to find another purpose for it. To me it is anyway. Maybe a pooper scooper?

I was thinking more like holding onto it for 15 years and showing kids then what a POS mobo looked like 15 years ago. I show the kids now my old Apple IIe and Apple IIgs comps (that still work fine tyvm) and they do that "OMG you didn't have COLOR then! EEEWWW!)". Gets me laughing every time

Hello? I told you what it is, and where to find the requested stuff. What else? So, the retail outlet went under. So what? As if this didn't happen elsewhere too.

Once again, this is a PC-Chips M790, the BIOS link is above. It's a VIA chipset, drivers on www.viaarena.com
