Win98 when left alone screen goes black and just get a cursor
Ok here is the problem when the computer is left alone for some time the screen goes black and I get a blinking cursor (_) in the top left of the screen.
Screen saver set to none.
Power setting are set to always on.
Turn nothing off or make nothing go into standby.

I would go to www.dell.com and click the support link, enter your service tag, go to the downloads section, and update the drivers and BIOS for the system. (Only the drivers for dell installed components) I have all dells at work and have fixed similar problems with BIOS updates. I think it is a power saving bug in the Dell Bios or Windows interface to the BIOS. You may need to disable power svaing in the BIOS as well.

Well that is what I was leaning to was the power mode in the bios.
I will give it a try.
Thanks
