    Are "Peace-nicks" USEFUL IDIOTS?

“A British commentator wandered about London during the anti-war demonstrations there, and pronounced that what she failed to see was more striking than what she did: Nowhere did she find protestors asking that Saddam Hussein disarm and leave power. It was as if it had never occurred to these people that the surest path to peace was for Saddam to hand over all weapons of mass murder and go into exile. The US would be mistaken to believe it can disregard world opinion, but there is too much at stake for this country to cave into illogic, naïveté, leftist-ideology or knee-jerk anti-Americanism, all of which seemed to be at least somewhat in play in the protests in Europe. Thanks partly to the perfidy of Germany and France and the consequent easing of pressure against Saddam, he will likely try to tough it out. And that may make war inevitable, for all the alternatives threaten more loss of life, more horror, more terror, more havoc, more oppression than war could cause."
…..“The facts are that prior inspections and sanctions and threats have failed to deter Saddam in his pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and ambition to run a pan-Arab state in the Middle East. If peace at this moment is bought at the price of allowing him to again slip the noose, he will not suddenly prow pacific and humble. He will become more of a menace, and sooner or later, thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands will pay with their lives. There is a possible way to secure peace without that eventuality. And that is for the whole civilized world to stand up as one and to demand that Iraq disarm and Saddam’s regime be replaced. Sadly, some political leaders see advantages in contrary tactics, and a great many demonstrators just don’t get it.”
    ScrippsHoward News Service

And here in the US, many who attended so-called ‘Peace Rallies’ did not even know that they were organized and orchestrated by anti-American communist organizations. The ignorance and empty headedness of some of these people is almost beyond belief.
Unfortunately, as I witness the mindless drivel that pours from some of these so-called ‘pacifists’ my hope for humanity to be able to resolve its problems ‘peacefully’ fades more into cynicism.

"Lenin called them "Useful Idiots," the intellectuals, writers, politicians and socialist activists in the West who, while not Party members, promoted the Bolshevik scheme of world revolution. His successor Stalin continued the use of the phrase and today, even after the total collapse of the communist system (estimated even by left-wing historians to have been responsible for over 100 million deaths over its 70-year genocidal run), the Useful Idiots don't appear to have received the word. They just go right on spouting the party line."
"You know the people I'm talking about. They are for peace and always against war, even after September 11. They think patriotism is racist and abusive. They think people who achieve do so at the expense of others, that European-descended Americans purposefully deny education and income to all others. They fight religion on every front, most notably in the public schools. (Okay to teach Islam, not okay to have Christmas pageants). They think a free-market economy has ruined the environment. They say they adhere to the principles of equality while pushing for special status for certain groups."
"They see Western civilization as racist, chauvinist and homophobic and strive to denigrate the reality of its success at very turn. They have no sense of humor and rarely let facts get in the way of their positions. They never stand and fight, preferring to retreat while labeling their opponents "abusive" for daring to air out the facts of the matter."
"The Useful Idiots earnestly believe that human beings cannot make their own decisions about whether to smoke, wear a seatbelt, or eat the right foods. The people are the masses, you see, and they must be controlled by the all-knowing central government and march to the erratic drills of the advocacy groups that have created a cottage industry in this politically correct era. Today, a new federal state or local law is passed every hour to protect the citizenry from itself. Basically, the Useful Idiots hate America because it is constructed on the principle of individual liberty. The Soviet Union may have failed, they say, but its principles are still valid. The state knows best and the revolution must go on until America itself fulfills the socialist utopia that began with the Bolsheviks."
"In the U.S. and around here, their policies dominate the public dialogue in politics. They even have their own Popular Front radio network (just like South American Marxist guerillas) called NPR that extols the virtues of their initiatives with no objectivity and certainly no criticism. Journalism schools have become anti-American activist cells, sending out brainwashed zealots to fix America, to get us to see the collective truth. Highlights of their successes can be seen in the abandonment of objectivity in news articles, the refusal to allow honest free speech, a persistent anti-Americanism and a general decline in the quality of political debate."

Isn't it nice that we have a president, flawed tho he may be, who has an opinion and goal and is not swayed by polls or sound bites? The reason GWB gets to do this is because Bill would not. I really wonder how Al would have done, and am glad I don't have to find out.

Facts are plain; on the world news last night an NBC commentator asked an Iraqi official about the possible up coming war. He laughed and said the US will not attack now due to the massive 'peace' demonstrations throughout the world. The news bite then went on to show that out of the last two major requests that Hans Blix sent to Sodom's regime in the last five days, one was out-right rejected and the other, a request to interview 20 scientists, was 'partially granted' an interview with 3 out of the twenty.
Any IDIOT should be able to see that the only way to make Sodom disarm is by holding his feet to the fire. If he retains his little toys which enable him to murder en masse' it is obvious who has enabled him: the empty-headed (but well intended) ‘Peace-nicks’.
The irony is that many more people may die later if Sodom chooses to do another conquest of the surrounding territory. And the only way he can is if he doesn't disarm. The 'Peace-heads' are now the ones enabling him to keep his weapons.
That is idiocy by any measure.

The irony is that the US and other western countries didn't mind giving full blown support to Iraq while "doing conquests in surrounding territory" in the 80's (Iran).
The irony is that the west was still close buddies with Iraq in '88 while he was dumping bio weapons on the Kurds (Halabjah).
The irony is also that a couple of years ago, we saw cheering Pakistani's because they produced the first 'islamic a-bomb'...but of course, Pakistan is your buddy now because they let you use their airspace while bombing caves in Afghanistan..
Heard about N. Korea lately ? Reserving the right for a pre-emptive strike when joint S.Korean/USA military build-up continues ? Withdrawing from the cease fire agreements following the Korean war ? Or don't they show that on NBC and CNN ?
I think the US will go to war, yes...no matter how many millions object and protest against it. And yes, it probably will be a quick and swift campaign. But the whole muslim world from Morocco to Indonesia will be outraged as what they perceive as a modern age crusade from the christian west against the muslim world and one day one of those islamic extremist loonies will knock at your door with a nasty surprise package...and you can bet he won't have got it from saddam.

Those who simply see peace is the only way and refuse to acknowledge the fact violence is a viable and option and sometimes the only option are indeed useless.

However, those who see a peaceful resolution as being possible and much more preferable to violence, as is the current case with the majority of Britains, have good points and grounds, which americans can then go and sulk about and ignore

But no, those who wander around in pshycadelic tie and die Tshirts taking hits from suspicious looking rollies and releasing doves all over the place tend to be pretty much useless.

Yeah I believe most of the people marching around in the streets just want attention. They think that in the future they will tell their friends and family, "look what I did!!" Well you know what, I will say that within 6-8 weeks we will be at war and the truth will start to come out about what has been going on in Iraq shortly thereafter. Not to mention all the havoc you will see "Sadam the saint" do when his **** is on the line. I hope all those protesters can sleep well under the blaket of security and peace that this country provides.

Yes, and I approve of the action. Saddam helped to stop a tide of religious fanaticism from sweeping the Middle East. Iran committed an act of war against the US when the Iranian 'student's seized the US embassy and took the US personnel hostage inTehran. The personified essence of this Islamic fundementalism was shown in the disciple of hate himself: the Ayatollah Khomenii.

Get your facts straight. The US was NOT buddies with Iraq during those years 1988.

Yes, and N. Korea is attempting to blackmail the world by quipping off about war with a possible nuclear attack if doesn't receive humanitarian aid from the US. Poor abused N. Korea.

I think "full blown support" might be overstating the support that was given to Irag during the Iran/Iraq war, when it mainly consisted of supplies and advisors. Why are so many of you outraged that the U.S. is the only country to want to stand up and demand that WoMD's are accounted for and disposed of properly, in accordance with treaties that were agreed upon when Saddam 's troops were asked nicely[ wait, i mean ROUTED] out of Kuwait.?The U.S. is such a big bully. Let me clue you booers and naysayers in on something, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE CLAMORING TO GET INTO IRAQ? think about it
Are we the aggressors just because we aren't going to wait for another building densely populated with civilians to be attacked[you know how aggressive those skyscrapers can be]
World opinion says we should leave off of Iraq and stop being so antagonistic, but that same world opinion **** sure doesn't mind wondering why the u.s. insn't sending more aid[i.e. food and money] their way. Sorry, i dont mean to rant, i just love my country.

The anti war activists being organized world wide is just another reason why the purpose of the UN needs to be re-evaluated. It was the UN that stopped the US from finishing the gulf war in the first place, allowed Saddam to remain in power when he should have been tried for war crimes, brokered a peace plan and issued a resolution it could never enforce and allowed weapons inspectors to be exiled from Irag years ago. If the US wasn't one of the biggest contributors to the UN in the first place it could have taken care of business years ago. The situation will never be resolved untill the tons of chemical and biological materials Irag had are accounted for, something that only a full scale invasion might accomplish. I hate war, and have all my life, but I can not find it in my heart to condon the terrorist tactics that are at the root of this conflict and if someone like Bin Laden and the Al Quieda are in support of Irag then I say take them all down, the sooner the better. I just hope and pray that the leadership in America up to the task and does not allow this terrorist tactic of war to destroy this country before it is too late.

...So the coalition takes out iraq for stockpiling WoMD, and ten years down the line when it's irans turn, iraq signs up to join the coalition (simply to earn international brownie points) and is used as a base to attack iran, 5 years after iran is wasted, the weapons stored in iraq are getting old and unstable, the iraqis are left with another stockpile of WoMD that the West considers dangerous and useless and wouldn't touch them with yours...

    read and repeat forever.

I fully agree that Sadam and his cronies need to be neutralised, I've always said that, and I also couldn't understand how he managed to cling to power after the gulf war. But IMO... you don't need a full scale war when you can send in the Mercs!

Special forces might work to get rid of Saddam, but would be useless if the UN cannot control the next in line. Simply taking out Saddam would only necessitate a coup. Now you might have a worse situation if there were such weapons and they were unleashed on thier own people again. Just like Afgahnastan the UN should decide who to is to be the next ruler of Iraq. At least that's the theory, but we all know now how ineffective the UN can be. I do think Iran might be the next to be backed up in the corner, but if the US is successful they may suddenly take a smart pill and MTOB.
