    graphic shrinking

    Hi does anyone know of a good programme to use that will make my graphic files smaller, had one and lost it bah! have gif optimiser, but want to work with JPEG.

    if you want to change the size of the image and are using windows xp than there is a power toy that allows you to resize images very easily.

    if you want to lower the jpg quality to make the file size smaller than most graphic editors and even some vewers allow you to set the quality you want to save your jpg at.

    Here something I does to reduce JPEG file size.

    Use Microsoft PAINT then open the file and save it as JPEG. Somehow it does reduce file size. Sometimes I notice degrade in quality.

    That power toy for XP is nice and easy but don't have alot size opinton.

    just about any current image processing program can easily do this.

    Paint Shop Po is what I generally use.

    Thanks folks, I managed to find a prog - JPEG optimiser and it is brilliant, gives complete control, lets you see the amount of image degrading and reduces file size quite a lot. The screenshot was reduced from 153 - 32 mb I am very pleased.


    p.s. hope the s/shot works trying for the first time.
