    Drop Connection

I have a new Dell 8250 XP pro OS. It came with a conaxent softmodem. After logging in to netzero (my IPS) the modem does its thing and connects to netzero for about 2 seconds then it drops the connection. I don't even see the two small computer icons that tells me cannection has been made. I have tried two differnt modems and they also do the same thing. The system came bundled with AOL free for a month so I tried it and it worked. I go back to netzero and it still drops the connection. I have been working with netzero for a month and nothing seems to help. I called DEll and they said as long as AOL work it's not there problem. How about that for customer service.

    Thanks in advance

sounds to me like a typical AOL problem.
you need to try and get all the AOL stuff off your machine.

try doing a search on google about removing aol.

    jgc,

    FYI

In "enhanced" mode you need to add [/QUOTE] at the end of the "quote" and [/B] at the end of the BOLD.

That's because I have two systems sitting next to each other. I can't get the old one out until I get the new one working. The only
thing thats holding me back is the connection.

By the way I did a search last night for aol files and to my surprise there were still 55 files left after I deleted aol from my
    c:/ drive.
