maybe the celeron is the reasonb for this low score. a celeron is allways slow, even when you oc it to 3ghz.

Hooya!
One question has haunted me....why does 3D Mark 04 use such an awful mix of games or testing graphics to run these tests...witht all the great cicnematic things aout there and the vast variety of good games...notably the most popular that people play...why do they use these games or graphics that nobody or the general populace uses???
What they need to do is to re-structure the whole thing and include interfaces that can enable the use of AA and AF among other factors...along with a parlay of samples of the more popular and demanding games...or video graphics...
I just have the Demo of PC Mark 04 and don't know if this is any better....
With a new HD and more ram ( 1 GB total ) my mark went up some...but not as much as I would have hoped...5887...running on a P4 2.8 800FSB.....1 GB Corsair Platinum Low latency PC3200..with 2326 timings....and a Seagate7800 8MB cache HD..running on a ASUS p4P800 deluxe Mobo..
( this is done on performance setting with no AA or AF on )
Also , I do not understand the nature of using the sound to determine the outcomes either..is this possibly related to performance or what??

3DMark uses no real games, it just usese game scenes, which where created just for 3DMark.
The sound test is just for testing the perfomrance loss from the sound card. it is not used for the final score. only the game tests are used for the final score.

Hooya!
Has anyone used 3D Mark 04 ?? I think I read from some you viewers that it somehow didn't show a true test of as the earlier version or whats up with this?? I think you can download the full software and key for about $30.00 online..and more for the CD sent to you..
I ran my tests and am hjappy with the results and know what my card and system can do for the most part..so I do not know what true value there would be to have this program ...
It is much bettter to have some programs like Sis Sandra or Aida installed to see what your system is up to and its workings....it has the basic integer numbers to compare in its utility for the video.... Everything in my system is on the highest top of the scales..so thats good enough for me....

Ill take a free version, but Im not paying $30 for a software program to throw an arbitrary number at my system strength.
