    ide controller driver

I just bought a pcchips, m741lmrt motherboard, I am trying to connect two hard drives. In my device manager it has an exclamation point next the my "primary ide controller (dual info). I am also running Windows ME on this board, which makes it hard to find the drivers i need. I can read the second drive, but cannot use any files on it. If anyone can help It would be greatly appreciated.

    Thankx

You need to check what complaint Windows has about the device.

IDE drivers of course from www.sis.com - download the latest ones advertized for the latest chipsets, not the older one that is marked suitable for the 620 chipset you have there. Background being, the new driver still supports the old chipsets, but is way better and faster.

Delete the controller from device manager and reboot. Let Windows reinstall the drivers and assign resources again.
